SWIFT VERRUCA TREATMENT

Revolutionary Verruca Treatment

Gone are the days of painful and inconvenient chemical treatment of verruca (plantar warts).

Here at The Podiatry Clinic, we have invested in the revolutionary up-to-date short wave SWIFT therapy which offers efficient, clean and hassle-free management of your contagious verruca infection.

Swift Microwave Therapy is a non-invasive and highly effective treatment option, offered by all our practitioners, for stubborn skin lesions such as plantar warts or verrucae.

What is SWIFT...

and how does it work

The SWIFT microwave handpiece produces non-ionising radiation which has the ability to agitate water molecules within skin cells without causing damage to DNA.

Water molecules are agitated in such a way as to vibrate and collide, creating friction and the generation of thermal energy.

Since skin cells have a high water content the desired temperature is rapidly achieved in the targeted/infected cells.

Swift microwaves are contained and only penetrate to a predetermined depth with no lateral spread.

They do not break the surface of the skin and destroy tissue like freezing and/or acids.

Swift Microwave Therapy works by rapidly facilitating the immune system to recognise the infective virus and the body to release infection fighting cells which ultimately destroy the virus.

Will it work for me?

The Most recent independent study (European Journal of Dermatology 27:5, 2017) demonstrated a 94% success/clearance rate within 3 treatments.

A treatment regime usually is scheduled over 5 visits (Initial, one week later, one month later, three months later and at 12 months)

Physical Effect of Each Treatment

You are unlikely to experience any major discomfort following SWIFT Microwave sessions.

It is uncommon to see much in the way of noticeable physical changes in appearance of verrucae until around 3-4 weeks post treatment.

This is because resolution starts deep in the skin tissue and not at the skin's surface.

Small black dots may appear first which indicates that the immune response is responding to treatment.

Treatment success time varies with each individual, patient age/overall health, the type of verruca and the length of time the verruca has been present are all factors.

Time scales of between 6 weeks and 9months are typical resolution times.
